Maxime started his professional career in 1996 where he joined a law firm advising French groups in Brazil, based in Sao Paulo, where he remained until 1999. During this period, he mainly worked on M&A and Privatization. In 1999 he joined TotalEnergies as head of legal in Total Lubricants Mexico. Since then Maxime has made his career in the Total Group, both at headquarters and abroad (Mexico, Bolivia, Angola and Brazil). He joined the E&P Acquisition and Divestment team of Total in 2012 where he conducted the growth of TotalEnergies in Brazil through major acquisitions. In 2015, he was appointed Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P Brazil and Country Chair for TotalEnergies in Brazil where he led the transformation of Total E&P Brazil to become the first IOC to operate production in the pre-salt Brazilian basin. During this period Maxime was also heavily engaged with society, namely for the development of local industries, actions for which he was awarded the Industrial Merit Order of the Rio de Janeiro Industries Federation. In December 2018, Maxime took up a global leading position in TotalEnergies as General Counsel for E&P, based in Paris. Since July 2021 he has been appointed Managing Director of TotalEnergies E&P Mozambique and Country Chair for TotalEnergies in Mozambique. Maxime has a Master in Law from Aix-en-Provence University in France and a Master in Corporate Finance from the TEC de Monterrey University in Mexico.
